Responsible for leading the Electronic Department and managing onboard electronic, IT, communication, navigation, security, entertainment, and emergency systems. Duties include maintenance and supervision of electronic equipment, cyber security compliance, emergency radio and safety systems, bridge and navigation equipment, satellite and internal communications, computer hardware and software, office and entertainment systems, department staffing, spare parts ordering, AMOS administration, GMDSS operation and testing, and coordination with shipboard and shore-side teams. Requirements include ETO COC, a completed GOC course with relevant GMDSS certificate, and relevant STCW certificates.
