About the role

An experienced port operations worker is sought for a bulk terminal in the Second Maasvlakte area. The role involves supporting daily loading, unloading, and storage of dry bulk goods, big bags, and general cargo, and working all-round within terminal operations and cargo handling. Responsibilities include loading and unloading ships, operating a bobcat and shovel to move bulk goods and cargo, transporting goods and materials with a terminal tractor, performing forklift work in the warehouse and on site, supporting daily terminal operations and logistics processes, and developing into roles such as reach stacker operator or excavator operator. Requirements include at least two years of experience in port logistics, preferably in bulk operations, experience operating machines or heavy equipment, relevant certificates or willingness to obtain them, willingness to work full time in a 3-shift system, ability to work independently, a proactive attitude, knowledge of the Dutch language, and own transport. The employer offers a full-time 12-month contract with the prospect of a long-term cooperation, a starting salary from €3,000 gross per month excluding a fixed shift allowance of 23%, good secondary benefits including healthcare and pension contributions, training and development opportunities, and a fixed 3-shift roster with Saturday work in the day-shift week.
