Faststream is partnering with a leading international shipowner to recruit a Technical Superintendent for its Petroleum Fleet Operations team in Houston. The role involves technical management of a modern tanker fleet, ensuring safe, reliable and efficient vessel operations while supporting long-term asset performance. Responsibilities include taking technical responsibility for an assigned fleet of tanker vessels, planning maintenance programmes, repairs and dry dockings, monitoring vessel performance, improving reliability and efficiency, ensuring compliance with Class, Flag State, PSC and SIRE requirements, managing technical budgets and maintenance expenditure, working with Masters, Chief Engineers and shore-based teams, managing contractors, suppliers and repair yards, and identifying opportunities to improve technical standards and asset performance. Requirements include a Class 1 Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency or Maritime Engineering degree, sailing experience as a Chief Engineer ideally on oil tankers, previous experience as a Technical Superintendent or in a shore-based technical management role, strong knowledge of planned maintenance, dry docking, statutory surveys and regulatory compliance, experience managing budgets, contractors and technical projects, and excellent communication skills.
