ETO Trainee – Dredging Vessel (TSHD) Location: Europe, Southeast Asia Rotation: 6 weeks on, 6 weeks off ETO Trainee role for dredging vessels. The position is intended for Indonesian candidates with Marine High Voltage and PLC experience. No prior dredging experience is required. The role offers exposure to European standards and a structured career path. Requirements include valid ETO certification, STCW certificates, a valid medical, and a current Seafarer’s Book. Marine High Voltage certification and hands-on experience with PLC systems are required. Candidates should have basic to intermediate experience in electrical, electronic, automation, and control systems onboard vessels, including PLC-based systems. Offshore, DP, AHT, AHTS, construction, and cable-laying experience is an advantage. Candidates should be willing to learn continuous 24/7 offshore operations, communicate in basic to operational English, work with multinational or European-led crews, and follow procedures under technical supervision. Safety-minded, disciplined, and technically curious candidates who can commit to a structured training and development program are sought. The role involves assisting the Chief Engineer and Senior ETO with maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical, electronic, automation, and PLC-based systems; learning dredging control systems, sensors, PLCs, and monitoring systems; supporting preventive maintenance and fault-finding; assisting with navigation, communication, and safety systems; ensuring compliance with QHSE, ISM, and PTW systems; participating in inspections, audits, drills, and technical reporting; and completing onboard training as part of the dredging familiarization program.
