Assistant Maitre D (Cruise Ship) – Worldwide Location: Worldwide Job Type: Permanent Position duties and responsibilities include supervising, training, and evaluating restaurant staff in assigned dining venues; maintaining high service standards; coordinating restaurant operations during events; assisting with scheduling and assignments; monitoring staff appearance, hygiene, and compliance with USPH and company policies; assisting with wine service and guest relations; leading onboarding and mentoring of new team members; tracking special occasions; supporting safety, environmental, and operational standards; and participating in meetings, training sessions, and other assigned duties. Leadership responsibilities include monitoring team performance, delegating tasks, maintaining service flow, and recommending staffing decisions and disciplinary actions as needed. Requirements: 5–8 years of hospitality management experience preferred, with shipboard experience an advantage. Degree in Hospitality Management or a related field preferred. Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills required. Experience with multicultural teams and dynamic environments, basic accounting knowledge, proficiency in MS Office, and fluent English are required. Additional languages such as Spanish, French, or German are a plus. Physical requirements include standing or walking for long periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, full mobility, and participation in emergency drills.
