About the role
Experienced Chief Engineer required for a leading UK dredging company operating in UK and Continental waters. The role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant operation and maintenance of all engineering systems onboard the vessel, including machinery, propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and auxiliary systems. Duties include compliance with UK MCA, Class, Flag State, ISM, and company procedures; leading and mentoring engineering personnel; overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance; maintaining maintenance and certification records; supporting HSEQ compliance; managing bunkering and fuel efficiency; liaising with shore management, superintendents, and contractors; ensuring readiness for inspections, audits, and surveys; and responding to emergencies, machinery failures, and breakdowns. Requirements include Chief Engineer Unlimited UK CoC/CeC, High Voltage (Management Level – HV(M)), STCW 95 certification, ENG1 Medical, and Security Awareness & Designated Security Duties certificates.
