About the role
Established marine engineering organisation seeks an experienced Quality Control Inspector for complex vessel construction and marine engineering projects in Canada. The role involves dimensional inspections on ship structures, assemblies and installed components; verifying positioning, geometry and alignment; checking fabricated and installed components against required tolerances; using specialist measurement and inspection equipment; interpreting technical drawings, specifications and digital models; analysing inspection results; preparing measurement reports; maintaining inspection records; working with engineering and production teams to resolve quality issues; and ensuring inspection equipment is maintained and calibrated. Experience in quality control or dimensional inspection, inspection of ship structures or large fabricated assemblies, precision measurement, surveying or industrial alignment, advanced measurement and inspection equipment, technical drawings and geometrical tolerances, and inspection or analysis software is required. Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills are important, and experience in shipbuilding, marine engineering, heavy manufacturing or another complex production environment is valued. A technical qualification is advantageous but not essential with equivalent practical experience. Visa sponsorship and relocation assistance are available for suitably qualified individuals.
