About the role

Faststream is representing a leading global provider of satellite communications, connectivity and managed network solutions serving maritime and other mission-critical industries. The company is seeking a Network Engineer to support the installation, commissioning, configuration and maintenance of network and connectivity solutions deployed onboard vessels and at customer sites. This hands-on technical role involves vessel attendance, shipyard visits, equipment installation, troubleshooting and regional travel across Asia-Pacific. Responsibilities include installing, configuring, testing and commissioning network equipment; supporting SATCOM, VSAT and LEO connectivity systems; troubleshooting LAN/WAN, TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching, firewalls and Wi-Fi infrastructure; supporting integration with vessel IT systems; conducting site surveys; performing testing, fault diagnosis, preventive maintenance and upgrades; preparing technical reports and service documentation; and providing remote technical support. The role requires relevant network engineering or telecommunications experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to work independently in a field environment. Experience with SATCOM, VSAT, LEO or maritime communications is highly advantageous, and maritime or shipyard experience is preferred. Desirable certifications include CCNA/CCNP, CompTIA Network+, vendor-specific networking certifications, SATCOM/VSAT technical qualifications, and marine electronics or communications certifications.
