Requirements include seaman's book, valid International Maritime Medical Certificate, professional diploma, safety of own life and social responsibilities, advanced fire fighting, personal survival techniques, first aid, security awareness for seafarers with designated security duties, navigation watchkeeping, radar and ARPA at operational level, ECDIS operation and use, rescue boat certificate, and General Operator's Certificate for GMDSS.
