Faststream is recruiting an experienced Naval Architect to support a major maritime engineering programme in Portsmouth. The role involves complex ship lifting, handling, and launch and recovery systems, with responsibilities across system requirements, design development, engineering analysis, and multidisciplinary integration from concept through detailed design and delivery. The position offers a 6+ month contract with potential for extension, Portsmouth-based hybrid working, and a competitive hourly rate. Requirements include experience as a Naval Architect in the marine, naval, defence or shipbuilding sector; strong ship design and marine engineering knowledge; engineering analysis and technical documentation skills; ability to interpret technical specifications and drawings; experience with 3D CAD or marine engineering design software; knowledge of marine standards and Classification Society requirements; and eligibility to obtain UK Security Check clearance.
