About the role
Faststream Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Assistant Systems Manager on behalf of a leading luxury ocean cruise operator. This is an opportunity for an IT professional to join a world-class onboard team, supporting the Systems Manager with the maintenance and operation of IT systems, networks, hardware and software across the vessel. Key responsibilities include supporting onboard IT systems, networks, servers and hardware; troubleshooting and repairing PCs, printers and other technical equipment; providing IT support and basic systems training to crew and guests; supporting guest-facing technology including WiFi, televisions and digital systems; responding to technical issues to ensure critical systems remain operational; and assisting with daily IT operations and inventory control. Requirements include at least 1 year of experience working with IT systems, including end-user support and systems administration; a degree in Computer Science or a related field with formal IT hardware and software training; strong PC hardware, software and troubleshooting skills; excellent written and spoken English; strong administrative and communication skills; experience with MXP preferred; and the ability to work flexibly, service-focused, and under pressure. The position offers a salary of $3000 per month worked onboard and a 6 months onboard/2 months off rotation.
