About the role
The Systems Engineer will be responsible for engineering design, technical configuration, documentation and implementation of telecommunications, safety and security, and marine navigation systems. The role includes developing engineering solutions, preparing technical documentation and drawings, supporting system configuration and testing, and working closely with clients, suppliers, technicians and commissioning teams. Responsibilities include designing and configuring IP infrastructure, Wi-Fi/WLAN, firewall security, IP-PABX, PAGA, CCTV, VCS, radio, GMDSS, VSAT, IPTV, radar and gyrocompass systems; preparing engineering documentation and VDRL submissions; producing sketches and guidance for final drawings; supporting equipment assembly and cabinet integration; performing configuration, simulation, testing and verification; conducting FATs; providing technical training; undertaking site commissioning and radio surveys; and supporting ad hoc technical assignments. The role requires a Diploma in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, 4-5 years of relevant engineering experience, and strong knowledge of telecommunications and marine communication and navigation systems. AutoCAD experience, site commissioning or radio surveying experience, and experience with planning tools such as CadnaA, Ekahau and iBwave would be an advantage.
