About the role

A leading provider of maritime technology and digital solutions is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to drive new business acquisition and expand relationships within the chartering and commodity trading sectors. This strategic, customer-facing role focuses on developing commercial opportunities with charterers, commodity traders, energy companies, and other key stakeholders across the maritime ecosystem. Responsibilities include identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, developing strategic business plans, building commercial business cases and go-to-market strategies, leveraging CRM systems and market intelligence, collaborating with senior leadership, driving customer acquisition, managing the sales pipeline, conducting customer meetings and solution demonstrations, and ensuring seamless customer onboarding and transition to internal teams. Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Maritime Studies, or a related discipline; experience in business development, enterprise sales, or commercial roles; a strong network within chartering, commodity trading, dry bulk, agribulk, or energy sectors; experience with charterers, commodity traders, shipowners, or maritime service providers; prior experience in maritime technology, SaaS, digital solutions, risk management, or maritime services; proven success in generating new business and achieving revenue targets; strong commercial acumen; and excellent communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
