About the role
Chief Engineer sought for permanent employment on LPG tankers. The role leads the Engineering Department and is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally compliant operation of onboard machinery, equipment, and technical systems. Duties include supervising engineering and maintenance activities, ensuring reliability of propulsion and cargo handling systems, managing engineering staff, and overseeing maintenance and repair of engines, generators, boilers, pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, steering gear, deck machinery, and electrical and automation systems. Planned and corrective maintenance must be completed in accordance with the Planned Maintenance System. Requirements include Chief Engineer Certificate of Competency (STCW III/2 Unlimited), valid STCW certificates, a seafarer’s medical certificate, LPG tanker familiarization and advanced gas tanker endorsements as required, and previous Chief Engineer experience on LPG, LNG, or gas tanker vessels.
