About the role
Senior Naval Architect role with an established and growing marine engineering and vessel design consultancy in the United Kingdom. The position involves leading naval architecture activities across a range of vessel projects, developing and reviewing designs from concept through detailed design, carrying out stability, weight, hydrodynamic, performance and seakeeping analysis, producing technical calculations and reports, supporting vessel modifications and refits, liaising with clients and suppliers, and providing guidance to junior engineers. The business works across defence, commercial, workboat, offshore and specialist vessel projects. Requirements include a degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, Ocean Engineering or a related discipline, around 8 years of relevant experience, strong understanding of vessel design and marine regulations/classification, and experience with Rhino, AutoCAD, SolidWorks or ANSYS being advantageous.
