About the role
An established organisation within the energy and commodities sector is seeking a Shipping Operator (Tankers) to join its Singapore team. The role involves overseeing the operational execution of spot shipments, coordinating with stakeholders, and ensuring voyages are managed efficiently while supporting commercial interests. Key responsibilities include coordinating with the trading team, vessel owners, brokers and agents; monitoring vessel movements and voyage progress; preparing voyage instructions; reviewing fixture recaps and charter party agreements; assessing voyage expenses and charter party-related claims; coordinating freight payments and voyage-related charges; supporting demurrage claim review and settlement; maintaining voyage records, statistics and documentation; updating voyage management and trading systems; and handling pre-fixture and post-fixture activities. Requirements include a Diploma or Degree in Maritime Studies, Shipping or a related discipline; at least 2 years of relevant experience in shipping or marine industry; experience in tanker operations, preferably oil tankers; familiarity with charter party terms, laytime calculations and demurrage processes; strong organisational skills; and comfort working in a fast-paced trading environment.
