About the role
Well-established marine services organisation is expanding its regional footprint with the launch of a new warehouse and branch operation in Johor, Malaysia. This is a key leadership appointment for an experienced Branch Manager to take ownership of the new operation, build the branch from the ground up, and drive operational, commercial and financial performance. The role involves establishing operating processes, leading day-to-day branch activities across operations, commercial performance, service delivery and customer support, coordinating cross-border activities between Malaysia and Singapore, developing customer and supplier relationships, identifying new business opportunities, managing revenue, profitability, operating costs and financial performance, preparing budgets and forecasts, leading commercial negotiations and contracts, resolving operational or commercial issues, implementing process improvements and cost optimisation initiatives, recruiting and developing a local team, and ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, operational procedures and safety standards. The position works closely with senior management in Singapore on business strategy, operational priorities and regional growth initiatives. Experience in branch management, operations management, general management or a similar leadership capacity is required, with experience in marine, maritime, offshore, logistics, warehousing, ship supply, industrial services or related sectors being highly advantageous. Previous experience setting up a new operation, branch, warehouse or business unit is valuable, along with strong commercial acumen, responsibility for P&L, budgeting, forecasting and cost management, team leadership experience, and the ability to work across Malaysia and Singapore operations.
