Faststream Recruitment has partnered with a global container shipping company seeking a H&M Specialist to join their team. The role involves managing Hull & Machinery (H&M), P&I, crew, cargo, and related marine insurance claims, including filing, processing, settlements, and recoveries. Responsibilities include handling major vessel incidents, investigating claims, identifying liable third parties, pursuing recoveries, overseeing insurance coverage for the fleet, coordinating with insurers, lawyers, and other stakeholders, supporting major incident response and claims reporting, providing claims-related advice and training, and assisting with arbitrations, mediations, litigation, and claims record maintenance. Occasional business travel and participation in a weekend emergency duty roster are required. Requirements include a bachelor's degree in Maritime Law, Maritime Legal Studies, or Marine Insurance preferred, 6-8 years of relevant marine insurance and claims experience, strong knowledge of maritime laws and conventions related to cargo liabilities, in-depth knowledge of the container liner industry preferred, and the ability to work effectively under demanding timelines.
