Chief Engineer Trainee – Dredging Vessel (TSHD) This role is an entry point for motivated Indonesian engine officers with solid offshore or high-intensity vessel experience. A valid COC Class I (Chief Engineer), STCW certificates, medical fitness, and a current Seafarer’s Book are required. Prior dredging experience is not required. Candidates should have engine room experience on offshore or high-intensity vessels such as DP vessels, AHT/AHTS, construction, cable laying, or similar units, and be accustomed to continuous 24/7 offshore operations. Experience in multinational or European-led crews is an advantage. Strong English communication skills are needed, especially in technical and operational contexts. The role includes structured dredging familiarization and operation under international engineering standards. The ideal candidate is safety-minded, disciplined, mentally resilient, and eager to develop into a senior engineering role. Work under the guidance of an experienced Chief Engineer while progressively taking responsibility for engine room operations. Responsibilities include supporting safe and reliable engine room and technical system operations, learning the operation and maintenance of main engines, auxiliary machinery, and dredging-related systems, supporting planned maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs, developing leadership capability by assisting in the supervision of engine room crew, ensuring compliance with QHSE, ISM, and PTW systems, supporting spare parts management, bunkering, and consumables control, participating in inspections, audits, and technical reporting, and completing on-the-job training as part of dredging familiarization and development.
