About the role
Faststream Recruitment is working with an established international marine engineering business to recruit a Technical Sales Engineer. This role suits a marine professional with strong technical knowledge and an understanding of ship systems and equipment, offering a move into a technically focused commercial position. Responsibilities include reviewing customer specifications, RFQs and technical documentation; developing technical solutions and selecting suitable equipment; carrying out calculations, equipment sizing and system design; producing technical documentation, specifications and P&IDs; preparing costings and commercial proposal information; using CAD to develop equipment and system layouts; working with customers and internal teams throughout the proposal process; and supporting newbuild and retrofit projects. Candidates from technical sales, marine engineering, applications, proposals, project/design engineering and marine superintendent backgrounds are of interest. Experience within cruise, shipbuilding or commercial shipping would be beneficial, although strong marine engineering experience from another sector will also be considered.
