About the role

Faststream is recruiting for a Fleet Electrical Superintendent to join an established maritime operator based in the East Yorkshire / Hull area. This shore-based position supports the safe, reliable and efficient electrical operation of a busy vessel fleet. The role involves technical support across planned and reactive maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, surveys and drydockings, while working closely with vessel crews, contractors and the wider technical team. It would suit an experienced ETO, Electrical Officer, Ship’s Electrician or Marine Electrician looking to move into or continue within a fleet-based superintendent position. Responsibilities include providing electrical technical support across the vessel fleet, supporting defect resolution and maintenance, coordinating planned electrical repairs, assisting with vessel surveys and drydockings, liaising with contractors and suppliers, monitoring electrical systems, supporting control and monitoring systems, maintaining technical documentation, assisting with inspections and compliance activities, supporting technical investigations and providing guidance to vessel crews. The role also involves supporting the management and development of electrical personnel across the fleet and participating in out-of-hours technical support when required. Requirements include previous marine electrical experience, strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills, knowledge of LV/HV systems, generators, switchboards, control systems and vessel monitoring systems, experience with diesel propulsion and associated electrical systems, exposure to workboats, tugs, offshore vessels or similar marine assets, and understanding of risk assessment, Permit to Work and LOTO procedures. UK Right to Work is required.
