About the role
Technical Manager role in Southampton with a leading global yacht management company. The position involves overseeing the technical management of a fleet of yachts and working with Captains, Chief Engineers, crew, Yacht Managers, and other stakeholders to ensure vessels are maintained and operated to high standards. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with Class, Flag State, regulatory, and company requirements; managing technical maintenance across mechanical, electrical, safety, environmental, LSA, and navigational systems; supporting Planned Maintenance Systems, technical inspections, audits, and yacht visits; providing technical advice and remote support; coordinating with contractors and service providers; supporting technical purchasing, supplier management, invoice review, budgeting, and technical expenditure; assisting with refit, drydock, and technical upgrade projects; and contributing to emergency preparedness and continuous improvement. Shore-based experience in a technical management role, previous senior engineering experience onboard, strong technical knowledge, and experience with planned maintenance, compliance, refits, contractors, suppliers, and budgets are required. Right to work in the UK is essential, and candidates must be based within commuting distance of Southampton.
