About the role
Permanent 2nd Officer position on a cruise vessel, based worldwide. Responsibilities include bridge watchkeeping, voyage plan monitoring, maintenance and testing of bridge instruments and communications equipment, updating nautical charts and publications, daily stability calculations, tank inspections, certification upkeep, support for safety drills and vessel familiarization, and SMS checks for the Deck Department. The role also includes trainer/assessor duties within the training, drill, and assessment program. Requirements include IMO Certificate Regulation II/2 (CH.MATE), valid STCW certificates, High School or Maritime Academy education, and minimum age of 21. Cruise ship experience and prior 2nd Deck Officer experience are preferred.
