About the role
The 3rd Electrical Engineer supports the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic systems aboard a cruise vessel. Responsibilities include work on power distribution, lighting, fire detection and alarm systems, automation and control systems, HVAC electrical components, lifesaving and safety equipment, and routine inspections and preventive maintenance. The role also involves monitoring generators, switchboards, transformers, and electrical panels, maintaining logs in the Planned Maintenance System, participating in safety drills and emergency response procedures, assisting with dry-docking or technical stop repairs, and supporting hotel-related electrical systems when required. Requirements include a valid ETO Certificate of Competency or equivalent under STCW, 1–2 years of sea-going experience preferred, and good English.
