This permanent role is based in Houston and offers a base salary plus bonus, 401k, benefits, and PTO. The position supports existing LNG assets alongside newbuilds, conversions, redeployments, and major vessel upgrade projects. The Project Engineer will provide engineering expertise across marine systems including propulsion, power generation, auxiliary machinery, mechanical and piping systems, and associated control systems. Responsibilities include supporting projects through the engineering lifecycle, developing and reviewing technical documentation, engineering optimization of marine systems, reviewing shipyard and vendor documentation, preparing technical scopes and equipment specifications, supporting equipment selection and technical evaluation, working with Classification Societies, contributing to HAZID/HAZOP/FMECA and other risk reviews, supporting commissioning and vessel operations, managing contractors and vendors, and travelling internationally to vessels and shipyards. Applicants should have a degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related discipline, along with 5+ years of relevant marine, project, or marine systems engineering experience. LNG or LPG experience is preferred, as well as knowledge of propulsion, power generation, auxiliary machinery, marine mechanical/piping systems, Class rules, Flag State requirements, and Class plan approval processes. Experience with shipyards, equipment manufacturers, marine contractors, and AutoCAD is also desired. A steam, diesel-electric, or gas turbine background would be advantageous, and previous seagoing experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
