About the role
Marine Superintendent | LPG role based in Glasgow, Clydebank with occasional travel. The position supports the safe and efficient operation of a fleet of vessels, providing marine operational guidance and ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards. Responsibilities include vessel performance, inspections, incident investigation, and continuous improvement of marine operations, working with onboard and shore-based teams. Required experience includes Unlimited Certificate of Competency (STCW II/2, unlimited tonnage), a degree in Nautical Science or equivalent experience, senior officer sailing experience ideally with command experience, a background in marine superintendent or similar marine operations roles, and experience across oil, chemical, or gas tanker operations. The role also requires knowledge of ISM, ISPS, OCIMF, and CDI vetting processes, experience with vessel inspections, audits, and ship visits, understanding of marine compliance, safety, and environmental regulations, ability to support incident investigations and produce reports, commercial awareness with budget and cost control experience, and strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
