Secretary-General – Asian Shipowners' Association (ASA) seeks an accomplished maritime leader for an executive leadership appointment based in Singapore. The role will lead the ASA Secretariat, support Member coordination and governance, represent the Association externally when authorised, and contribute to long-term financial sustainability. Responsibilities include providing executive leadership, supporting the President and Chairmen's Council, building communication and consensus across Member Associations, monitoring maritime and regulatory developments, leading the Secretariat team, and overseeing budgets and financial administration. Candidates should have substantial senior executive experience, strong knowledge of the maritime industry and Asian shipping landscape, strategic and institutional leadership capability, commercial judgement, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders across Members, governments, regulators and international organisations. A relevant degree or equivalent experience is expected; postgraduate qualifications and familiarity with IMO processes or Secretariat leadership would be advantageous. The position is ordinarily based in Singapore, requires international travel, and offers SGD 200,000 annual fixed compensation paid over 13 months plus a variable performance bonus on an initial two-year appointment.
