About the role
Shore Based Engineer role supporting vessel technical reliability, safety, and operational readiness. Responsibilities include providing day-to-day technical support for maintenance and repairs, coordinating and supervising maintenance, retrofit and dry-docking activities, visiting and inspecting vessels and shipyards, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting crews with maintenance systems and technical reporting, managing documentation, assisting with procurement of parts and services, and ensuring QHSE compliance. The role is based in the IJmond region in the Netherlands or the Flensburg region in Germany, with regular travel to vessels, shipyards, and local work sites. Requirements include a technical or marine engineering background, vessel maintenance and technical operations experience, strong troubleshooting and organisational skills, a hands-on approach, good communication, experience with QHSE procedures, willingness to visit vessels and shipyards, responsibility for safety and vessel availability, and good English.
