About the role
Experienced Third or Second Mate sought for a Marine Safety & Quality Coordinator role with an established vessel owner in New Orleans, Louisiana. The position is shoreside and focuses on HSQE management, including maintaining safety, quality and environmental systems; coordinating audits and inspections; managing documentation and corrective actions; supporting training, drills and contingency planning; and assisting with vessel inspections, Port Captain duties, crew selection and operational projects. The role reports to the Vice President of Marine Operations and involves occasional travel for vessel visits and special projects. A USCG Deck Officer license is preferred, with Second Mate or Chief Mate level ideal, and strong knowledge of the ISM Code and shipboard safety management systems is required. US citizenship or US permanent residency with unrestricted work authorization is required.
