About the role
RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd. is offering a full-time, fixed-term 12-month Year in Industry placement in Electrical Engineering starting in July 2027. The role is based in Swindon with a hybrid model of 3 days per week onsite and the rest home-based. The placement is within RWE Offshore Wind and focuses on offshore wind electrical system design, including interfaces between transmission systems, onshore and offshore substations, and wind turbine generators. Responsibilities include supporting project lifecycle work from development through construction and operation, contributing to HVAC and HVDC system design, creating simulation models, analysing system behaviour and grid code compliance, visiting project sites, and taking ownership of a defined project. Applicants should be studying Electrical Engineering and eligible for a year-in-industry placement. Knowledge of electrical power engineering, electrical systems and design, plant, or electrical distribution is advantageous. The role includes a salary aligned with the Real Living Wage and professional training including a Global Wind Organisation certificate and Wind Turbine Safety Rules training.
