About the role

Second Officer Trainee – TSHD (Trailing Suction Hopper Dredger) based in Europe and Southeast Asia, with a 6 weeks on / 6 weeks off rotation. This trainee role is for motivated Indonesian deck officers with offshore or high-intensity vessel experience. No prior dredging experience is required. The position offers hands-on training, exposure to European standards, and a pathway into dredging operations. Required qualifications include a valid COC Class II or Class I (Deck Officer), STCW certificates, medical fitness, and a current Seafarer’s Book. Candidates should have experience in continuous 24/7 maritime operations and complex deck activities, be familiar with offshore operations, communicate effectively in operational English, and be willing to learn dredging procedures. Strong discipline, safety awareness, resilience, and comfort in a multinational crew environment are expected. Duties include bridge watchkeeping, navigation support, voyage planning, chart corrections, learning TSHD systems, assisting with dredging and deck operations, coordinating bridge and deck teams, and complying with QHSE, ISM, and PTW systems.
