Permanent Technical Officer role with a reputable Marine Surveying business, based remotely anywhere in the UK or hybrid from Cardiff. The position supports the marine technical department with processing, reviewing, correcting, and quality checking technical inspection reports and supporting data. Duties include report and data organisation, contributing to classification records reviews and remote asset reviews, supporting bespoke project work, responding to surveyor queries, supporting ISO 9001 quality management compliance, and attending pre-inspection briefings and client meetings. The role also involves familiarization with multiple survey types, including general condition, pre-purchase, pre-sale, pre-charter vetting, and general charterer vetting inspections. Requirements include sea-going experience as a Marine Engineer or Deck Officer, sailing to at least 3rd Engineer or 3rd Officer level, an EOOW or OOW licence or higher, a marine-related degree, strong communication skills, and the right to work in the UK with a full UK driving licence.
