About the role
RWE Offshore Wind Netherlands B.V. is seeking an experienced and motivated SOV Manager to lead the operation of the OranjeWind Offshore Wind Farm, located 85 kilometres off the coast of Den Helder. The role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and uninterrupted daily operation of the Service Operations Vessel (SOV). Acting as RWE’s senior representative on board, the manager will coordinate between RWE, Vestas, and the vessel crew to ensure offshore activities are carried out safely and effectively. The position reports to the Production Manager and follows a 14 days on / 14 days off rotation in a back-to-back setup. OranjeWind is a 795 MW offshore wind farm with Vestas V236-15 MW turbines expected to enter operation in April 2027. During the first five years, turbine maintenance will be delivered by Vestas in close cooperation with RWE, while RWE will be responsible for the Balance of Plant scope. Key responsibilities include managing interfaces with the vessel operator and Vestas, coordinating onboard RWE personnel, ensuring HSE compliance, supporting production, maintenance and planning teams, acting as the main operational contact, supporting contract management, backing up the Maintenance Coordinator, improving offshore logistics, and leading emergency response and crisis-management activities when required. The role requires relevant technical education or equivalent experience, significant energy-sector operational experience preferably in offshore wind, strong team leadership and coordination skills, offshore operations and maintenance knowledge, technical and commercial operational management experience, strong HSE commitment, excellent English, medical fitness for offshore work and work at height, and eligibility to work in the Netherlands.
