About the role

Marine Superintendent role in the Rotterdam area for a permanent maritime partner active in shipping and maritime services. Based in Rotterdam, the position is responsible for the operational coordination of incoming and outgoing vessels in the port, ensuring smooth and efficient port calls. Key responsibilities include coordinating vessel port visits and stays, handling customs and immigration formalities, preparing and checking operational and customs documents, maintaining contact with customers, vessel management, customs, military police, and pilotage services, coordinating loading and unloading activities, organizing transport and hotel accommodation for crew, arranging storage, transport, and delivery of vessel supplies, monitoring schedules and deadlines, resolving operational issues, and ensuring clear handover and communication between all parties. The role may require shifts outside regular office hours when operations demand it. Candidates should have a maritime background, relevant maritime education or work experience in shipping, experience onboard and/or in an operational shore-based role, good Dutch and English communication skills, a valid B driving license, and a flexible, independent, organized, and solution-oriented working style. The role is for 40 hours per week in Rotterdam and may require presence at vessels or in the port as needed.
