About the role
Temporary full-time Chief Engineer position in Oil & Gas on a semi-submersible in Las Palmas. Responsible for safe, efficient, and compliant operation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical, electrical, power generation, propulsion, and utility systems on board. Duties include leading engine room personnel, overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance, maintaining records in compliance with class, flag, ISM, and ISPS requirements, managing fuel and water inventories, liaising with shore-based technical support and external bodies during inspections and surveys, supporting rig move operations and ballast management, participating in safety management activities, and mentoring junior engineering staff. Required qualifications and experience include STCW III/2 Chief Engineer (Unlimited) CoC, valid offshore medical, BOSIET/FOET with CA-EBS, senior engineering experience on semi-submersibles, drillships, or similar offshore vessels, CMMS experience, and strong leadership and emergency response skills. Additional training includes BST, Advanced Fire Fighting, Medical First Aid, PSCRB, Leadership and Managerial Skills, ERM, High Voltage Training, and security-related STCW training.
