About the role

A renewable energy company active across Europe in the development of wind and agrivoltaic projects has an operational office in Italy focused on new projects, especially in the south of the country. The local team is multidisciplinary and manages a significant pipeline of projects at various development stages. The role is Environmental Permitting Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing permitting processes and environmental matters related to the development, construction, and operation of renewable energy plants. Key responsibilities include managing authorization procedures and environmental permit requests at local, regional, and national level; preparing and coordinating documentation for screening and environmental impact assessment procedures; ensuring the acquisition of all necessary approvals and compliance with regulations throughout project phases; carrying out territorial analyses using GIS software to identify suitable areas for wind and agrivoltaic projects; identifying environmental and landscape constraints; coordinating specialist technical studies; checking project consistency with territorial planning instruments; managing waste planning and documentation; defining and negotiating environmental compensation measures with competent authorities; monitoring regulatory developments and assessing their impact on projects; supporting technical due diligence in development or acquisition operations; helping assess and mitigate environmental and permitting risks; maintaining regular contact with public bodies and administrations; coordinating with external consultants and stakeholders; carrying out site visits for environmental compliance checks; and managing permitting and environmental documentation accurately. Requirements include a Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related disciplines, at least 5 years of experience in similar roles with a focus on environmental permitting for wind and/or photovoltaic plants, proven experience with VIA procedures, solid knowledge of Italian environmental legislation, excellent MS Office and GIS software skills, familiarity with AutoCAD is preferred, ability to work both in a team and independently, strong results orientation, precision, reliability, organizational skills, willingness to travel within the territory, and good English proficiency (at least B2).
