About the role
UTM Consultants are seeking a Power Control Specialist responsible for the safe, compliant, and reliable operation of generation and transmission assets from the Power Control Room on a 24/7 rostered shift. The role involves working within approved procedures, TASA/OMA requirements, and defined escalation routes while supporting operational continuity across Power Control and connected business areas. Key duties include carrying out generation and transmission power control tasks in line with QHSE standards, supporting accurate REMIT urgent market message publication, handling alarms and incident situations, performing park/WTG control for maintenance and ancillary services, liaising with key stakeholders, and supporting restricted HV control engineer duties up to 66kV. Required experience includes practical SCADA operation in a real-time environment and work in electrical, power generation, transmission, utilities, control room, or operational engineering settings. Electrical qualification at City & Guilds, ONC, HNC, or degree level is required. Contract duration is 20 weeks, starting 28 September 2026, with a shift pattern of 3 days/4 nights or 4 days/3 nights, 6am to 6pm.
