About the role

Senior Quantity Surveyor required for a permanent role in London within an infrastructure and energy services organisation. The position supports major energy infrastructure projects across the UK's expanding energy sector, including electricity transmission and distribution networks, renewable energy developments, EV charging infrastructure, battery energy storage systems, solar projects, and wider energy transition initiatives. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the role covers commercial management from inception through completion, including cost management, contract administration, procurement, commercial reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, pricing schedules, tender submissions, cost forecasts, valuations, financial reporting, budget monitoring, contract variations, compensation events, change control, payment applications, claims, final accounts, subcontract procurement, and support to delivery teams. The role also includes mentoring junior commercial team members and contributing to continuous improvement and business growth initiatives. Essential requirements include a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline; proven experience in Energy, Utilities, Power, or Infrastructure sectors; strong knowledge of commercial management and contract administration; experience with NEC, JCT, ICE, and bespoke contract forms; and the ability to manage multiple projects or framework contracts simultaneously. Desirable experience includes electricity transmission and distribution projects, renewable energy, solar, battery storage, or EV charging projects, knowledge of utility frameworks and regulated environments, and RICS membership or progress towards chartership.
