About the role
Senior Quantity Surveyor role based in London, Greater London, South East, England. Permanent position with a salary of £90,000 - £110,000 per annum plus car allowance and bonus. The role supports major energy infrastructure projects across the UK's energy sector, including electricity transmission and distribution, renewable energy, EV charging infrastructure, battery energy storage systems, solar projects, and wider energy transition initiatives. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, responsibilities include commercial management from inception to completion, cost management, contract administration, procurement, commercial reporting, risk management, stakeholder engagement, pricing schedules, tender submissions, cost forecasts, valuations, financial reporting, budget monitoring, contract and change control administration, applications for payment, claims, final accounts, subcontract procurement and payments, commercial discussions with clients and stakeholders, risk mitigation, support to delivery teams, cost control and forecasting processes, contractual compliance, and mentoring junior team members. Essential requirements include a degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, Construction Management, or a related discipline, and proven experience in Energy, Utilities, Power, or Infrastructure sectors. Experience with NEC, JCT, ICE, and bespoke contract forms is required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects or framework contracts, strong commercial awareness, negotiation, financial analysis, stakeholder management, and communication skills. Desirable experience includes electricity transmission and distribution projects, renewable energy, solar, battery storage, EV charging, utility frameworks, regulated environments, and progress toward RICS chartership.
