About the role
Head of Development for a leading international renewable energy platform to lead and scale its utility-scale pipeline across Italy. Based in Rome, the role will drive end-to-end development activities in Solar, Onshore Wind, and BESS. Responsibilities include leading the full development lifecycle of utility-scale renewable energy projects, defining and executing the national development strategy, overseeing permitting and grid connection applications, managing stakeholder relationships, building and mentoring a development team, coordinating with internal teams, monitoring market and regulatory trends, ensuring alignment with investment and ESG standards, and supporting M&A activities. The candidate should have proven experience in utility-scale renewable energy development in Italy, knowledge of Italian permitting and grid connection frameworks, team leadership experience, a strong network in the Italian renewable energy sector, commercial awareness, fluency in Italian and English, and strong strategic and hands-on project development skills.
