Cable Project Engineer for a major offshore wind farm in the UK. Responsibilities include providing cable engineering support across multiple projects by producing or reviewing outline cable system designs during development phases, reviewing and assessing technology options, selecting underground cable routes, producing current rating calculations using CYMCAP software, and assessing interface requirements. The role supports the project life cycle, including design development, risk sessions, construction, installation, commissioning, and completion of complex projects. It involves collaborating across disciplines to identify and mitigate technical and quality risks, ensuring designs are safe, efficient, and compliant with client and industry standards. The position also includes developing technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects and modifications to existing assets, and promoting safety by design throughout the engineering process in compliance with CDM Regulations, ESQCR, and relevant HSE legislation. Requirements include a relevant engineering degree, ideally Chartered Engineer status or working towards it, experience on the Transmission Network with extensive knowledge of High Voltage Cables, experience in multi-disciplinary project teams on transmission or major infrastructure projects, and technical understanding of relevant legislation including CDM and ESQCR.
