About the role

Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to perform onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at a wind powered generation plant. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, performing component repairs and preventive maintenance, collecting data and preparing reports, completing QA/QC functions, and supporting construction walk-downs when applicable. The role may require overtime, holiday and weekend work, short-notice travel to other sites, work around low, medium, and high voltage, and work in adverse weather conditions. Required qualifications include a technical school certificate or related experience or wind industry training, a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment, advanced computer skills, the ability to climb towers up to 100 meters, lift heavy items, work with electrical wires, interpret instructions, knowledge of heavy equipment and crane and rigging requirements, teamwork, initiative, a valid driver's license, and an acceptable driving record. Preferred qualifications include experience in power plant operations and maintenance, wind and solar plant construction, operation, and maintenance, high voltage switching, and related electrical and mechanical experience.
