About the role

TGRC is supporting the delivery of a major offshore wind project in Japan and is seeking an experienced Cable Installation Supervisor to join the project on a contract basis. The role involves supervising offshore cable installation activities, ensuring work is delivered safely, correctly and in line with project specifications, approved procedures, installation plans and programme milestones. Responsibilities include supervising array cable and/or export cable works, overseeing contractor and subcontractor performance during cable loading, lay, pull-in, burial, protection, termination and testing activities, monitoring progress, supporting method statements, risk assessments, ITPs, lifting plans, cable handling procedures and permit-to-work requirements, coordinating with vessel crews and marine teams, supporting inspections and handover documentation, maintaining reports and records, and promoting a strong safety culture. Requirements include proven experience supervising offshore cable installation activities, experience in offshore wind, subsea cables, marine construction, oil and gas, interconnectors, grid, power transmission or major energy infrastructure projects, strong understanding of cable lay, pull-in, burial, protection, termination, testing and marine operations, experience working with installation vessels and offshore construction teams, good knowledge of HSE standards and offshore construction procedures, and the ability to read technical drawings and installation documentation. Experience in Japan or the wider APAC offshore wind market would be highly advantageous, and Japanese language skills would be beneficial but are not essential.
