About the role

An internationally recognised engineering and advisory organisation is seeking a Senior Renewable Energy Engineer to join its growing team supporting the energy transition across Africa. The role involves supporting utility-scale wind, solar PV, battery energy storage (BESS), and hydro projects, providing technical advisory services to developers, lenders, investors, utilities, and project owners. Key responsibilities include leading technical advisory and due diligence assignments, conducting feasibility studies and design reviews, reviewing contracts and technical documentation, preparing client reports and recommendations, participating in site visits, inspections, and construction monitoring, and supporting business development and proposal activities. Requirements include a degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, Chemical Engineering, or similar; 10+ years' experience in renewable energy projects; strong knowledge of utility-scale wind, solar, hydro, and/or BESS projects; experience in technical due diligence, owner's engineering, or consulting environments; excellent report writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to manage multiple projects and work under deadlines; and willingness to travel locally and internationally.
