About the role
Operator Bulk for a large bulk terminal on the Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. The role involves working aboard seagoing vessels to help unload bulk commodities such as iron ore and coal, collecting remaining bulk material in ship holds, moving cargo with smaller shovels on board, and supporting a safe and efficient unloading process. The position starts in a trainee role with opportunities to progress to boatswain and other shore-based functions, including operation of larger industrial loaders. Candidates should have MBO level working and thinking ability, experience with machines such as shovels or earthmoving equipment, be physically fit, able to work safely, willing to work in a continuous five-shift rotation, eager to learn and develop, able to obtain a VCH certificate within one month after probation, provide a VOG before starting, speak good Dutch, and be able to use the employer's arranged transport. The position offers a long-term opportunity, internal training, and career progression.
