About the role
Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to support onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at a wind powered generation plant in Rosamond, CA. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, completing data collection and reports, and supporting QA/QC and commissioning walk-downs as needed. The role may require overtime, on-call availability, travel to other sites, and work in adverse weather conditions. Required qualifications include a technical school certificate or equivalent related experience, a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment, advanced computer skills, the ability to climb towers up to 100 meters, lift heavy items, and a valid driver's license. Preferred experience includes power plant operations and maintenance, wind and solar plant work, and high voltage switching.
