Job Title: Construction Subcontract Engineer Employment Type: CONTRACTOR Structured Description: Construction Subcontract Engineer (Contract) Location: Talacre, United Kingdom (On-site) Contract: Outside IR35 | Full-time (5.5 days/week) | ~40 hrs/week Rate: £600/day (all-in) Start: 5 Nov 2026 (ASAP / once a suitable candidate is identified) End date (current forecast): 5 Nov 2027 Sector: Renewables / Energy Transition (Liverpool Bay – Decommissioning & Carbon Capture & Storage) Overview UTM Consultants is looking for a Constuction Subcontract Engineer for a global engineering and construction leader supporting major energy and infrastructure projects worldwide. We’re supporting the ENI Liverpool Bay Project (Decommissioning & CCS) and are seeking a Construction Subcontract Engineer to work closely with the Subcontract Manager, helping drive robust subcontract administration, progress/payment validation, change management, and close-out across key construction scopes. Key Responsibilities Ensure subcontract administration procedures are implemented and followed across subcontractors Draft and manage formal correspondence (letters/notices) with subcontractors and coordinate responses Monitor subcontractor performance, progress, and contractual compliance Review/validate subcontractor progress payments and supporting documentation Support identification and management of variations/claims and impacts to programme and cost forecasts Review site queries/instructions/deviation requests; assess cost impact and support negotiations Manage extra works, unit rates, claims, back-charges, liquidated damages, and subcontract close-out Support change management and forecast analysis activities Support completion certification processes Maintain contract/price list configuration and revisions within the Work Progress Management System Guide subcontractors on submission of progress, new prices, and change orders (incl. back-up docs) Check alignment between physical progress and economic progress; report to Subcontract Manager Requirements / Experience 3–5 years’ experience in a similar role (Quantity Surveyor / subcontract administration / commercial support) within Oil & Gas or Energy Onshore construction experience is mandatory (offshore experience is a plus) Comfortable with progress measurement, payment validation, and change/claims support on large projects Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills with subcontractors Page Content: Construction Subcontract Engineer Work Type: Contract Start Date: 5th November 2026 Duration: 48 Weeks Construction Subcontract Engineer (Contract) Location: Talacre, United Kingdom (On-site) Contract: Outside IR35 | Full-time (5.5 days/week) | ~40 hrs/week Rate: £600/day (all-in) Start: 5 Nov 2026 (ASAP / once a suitable candidate is identified) End date (current forecast): 5 Nov 2027 Sector: Renewables / Energy Transition (Liverpool Bay – Decommissioning & Carbon Capture & Storage) Overview UTM Consultants is looking for a Constuction Subcontract Engineer for a global engineering and construction leader supporting major energy and infrastructure projects worldwide.
