About the role
Avangrid Power is seeking a Wind Turbine Technician to support onsite operations, maintenance, repairs, and replacement of equipment at a wind powered generation plant. The role includes operating and maintaining wind turbine equipment and associated infrastructure, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, performing preventive maintenance, data collection, reporting, QA/QC, and supporting construction walk-downs as needed. The position requires willingness to work overtime, holidays, weekends, on-call shifts, travel to other sites, and work in adverse weather conditions. Required qualifications include a technical school certificate or related experience or wind industry training, a high school diploma or GED, familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment, advanced computer skills, ability to climb towers and lift heavy items, knowledge of crane and rigging requirements, teamwork, a valid driver's license, and acceptable driving record. Preferred experience includes power plant operations and maintenance, wind and solar plant construction, operation, and maintenance, high voltage switching, and related electrical/mechanical experience. Employment is contingent on successful completion of medical, background, reference, and drug screening checks, and other applicable verification requirements.
